Employee Spotlight: Courtney McArtor

Meet Courtney McArtor. Our punniest co-worker, amazing designer and super talented Art Director.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: It’s really important to me to be surrounded by creative people that I enjoy working with, and there’s no shortage of that here at Anthem. The company culture and collaborative nature make it easy and fun to work here. I love seeing something our team has designed out in the wild! Whether it’s a label in a wine shop or a t-shirt on a stranger, it always makes me smile and feel proud that I’m part of such a great team.

Q: Who has had the most influence over you?

A: I’m lucky to have worked with some pretty influential ladies in my career who have been amazing mentors to me. I mostly look up to my friend Laura, who is an incredibly talented Creative Director. I’ve learned so much from watching her, and I’m so glad she was able to take me under her wing during my younger design years and help shape me into the woman I’ve become. One piece of advice that has stuck with me is that sometimes life is more about the journey than the destination. So, enjoy the journey!

Q: What color best represents your personality and how does that color make you feel?

A: Green has always been my favorite color, but in terms of personality I’d have to say yellow – it just makes me feel warm and happy!

Q: How would your best friends or family describe you in three words?

A: Personable, Passionate and PUNNY.

Q: What is your favorite activity to do locally and why?

A: My husband and I have a toddler, so activities lately have involved things like playing with bubbles in our back yard or little day trips to the Denver Zoo. We love taking our golden doodle Ollie to the all the awesome local dog parks too!

Q: What is your favorite local restaurant?

A: T/ACO in Boulder hands down. Their cotija taco is my fave!

Q: Best concert you have ever attended?

A: Flight of the Conchords at Red Rocks Amphitheatre – I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire time, those guys are hilarious.

Q: Where’s your favorite place in the world?

A: Anywhere with my family playing charades!

Q: Secret talent?

A: I’m a SUPER amateur harmonica player. I grew up listening to my Grandpa play with his brothers, and I’ve been slowly teaching myself to keep that little part of my history alive. My youngest brother can beatbox while he plays, but I’m totally not at that level. Let me know when your birthday is coming up and I’ll brush up on my Happy Birthday tunes!
