National Intern Day Spotlight: Davi Sher

Meet Davi Sher, one of our Content Marketing Interns here at Anthem Branding, featured in our National Intern Day Spotlight.

Q: Where are you from originally? What is special about the place you grew up?

A: I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas which is a suburb of Kansas City. KC is special for many reasons. First off, we have the best barbecue in the world (you can quote me on that), but I also love how friendly and social everyone is. Everyone is like family in KC.

Where do you go to school and what is your major?

I go to school at the University of Colorado Boulder and I am majoring in Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Advertising and minoring in Jewish Studies.

What’s your role at Anthem?

I’m one of three content marketing interns and I handle all of our social media. I’m the face behind our Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.

Most valuable thing you have learned in your internship so far? Favorite thing you’ve done?

One of the most valuable things I have learned from Anthem Branding so far is that my opinion really matters. Even though I’m just an intern, I’ve been able to have a large say in decisions and content planning, which has taught me to speak up and be even more confident in my ideas.

My favorite thing that I’ve gotten to do here happened in one of our recent content planning meetings that happen every Monday. I got to lead one of the meetings and kick-off the ideation process, which was a really exciting experience.

What did you want to be when you were young? What do you want to be now?

Both of my parents are doctors, so I always wanted to be like them... until I took anatomy where I received my first and only C and I knew it wasn't meant to be.

I still don’t know for sure what I want to be now, but I think it would be really exciting for me to do advertising or marketing at a fashion agency.

What song have you completely memorized?

“Bottoms Up” by Trey Songz ft. Nicki Minaj. I’ve had the entire rap section memorized since I was 9-years-old.

What’s your favorite food?

Sushi and tofu. Those always hit the spot. Don’t bash tofu until you try it.

What fad or trend do you hope comes back?

Fanny packs. They are just so convenient to keep all of your stuff in and you don’t have to worry about anyone stealing.

Or… Juicy Couture tracksuits. There is nothing better than being comfortable and fashionable at the same time.

What’s your favorite piece of clothing you own/owned?

I actually just bought this piece a couple of weeks ago, it definitely isn’t everyone's taste, but I have this midi leopard skirt that I love. Fashion for me is a fun outlet of my personality, so I really like to experiment with bold prints and bright colors.

What’s your favorite hobby?

Traveling! I’ve been to 45 states in the U.S., four continents, and over 10 countries. Seeing the world and learning about different cultures is fascinating to me. One of my favorite trips was to the Galapagos Islands.

Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?

My arms are crazy double-jointed.
