Employee Spotlight + Anthem's Farewell: Cat Wenger

Meet Cat Wenger, one of our amazing Art Directors. After 6 years at Anthem, she is starting a new adventure. We will never forget her incredible talent and contribution, and the energy that she brought to the office every day.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: I truly love the opportunity to connect creatively with clients. Visual aesthetic is a language we all speak, regardless of our backgrounds or individual talents, and it's very emotionally-driven. It's an awesome thing to be present when a client describes an idea they have, and I feel so privileged to have the skills and resources to turn that idea, from logos to custom garments, into a reality.

Q: Who had the most influence over you?

A: My parents have truly given me the most awesome support and every tool I could ever need to do anything I could possibly dream of.

However, I owe many of my most profound personal accomplishments to my dearest friend, Teeny. Her encouragement, positivity, and unconditional friendship have helped me in more ways than I can count. While my more tangible accomplishments may vary in importance and soften over time, her reminders to take care of myself, listen to my heart, and to lighten up - those are skills that will continue to make me a better person, for myself and my tribe, regardless of where I go or what I do. I am so grateful for the opportunity to call her my friend!

Q: What color best represents your personality and how does that color make you feel?

A: Clay (gosh, that was very "designer" of me, wasn't it?). It's bright and firey and it makes me feel optimistic, warm, and grounded.

Q: How would your best friends or family describe you in three words?

A: Very art. Many beauty. Much jokes.

(No, really. I asked them. That is what they said.)

Q: What is your favorite activity to do locally and why?

A: Trail running or hiking in the Sanitas Valley. There's nothing like taking a moment to feel the sunshine on your face and spend quality time with the besties and my fiancé in the middle of a busy day. Plus, we're so lucky to literally have trails at our back door.

Q: What is your favorite local restaurant?

A: This is actually extremely difficult - we have so much awesome food in Boulder! I'll say Zoe Ma Ma. It's fresh, authentic, and to sit and have a meal is an experience of its own.

Q: Best concert you have ever attended?

A: The summer's Electric Forest Festival was absolutely out of this world. Thanks to the silent discos, pool parties, great friends, and an incredible lineup - it's a weekend I won't soon forget!

Q: Favorite Netflix show to binge watch?

A: The Office.

Q: Where's your favorite place in the world?

A: Most recently, it's spending time with my fiancé's family in Grand Junction, Colorado. Whether we're hiking, mountain biking, touring wineries in Palisade, or just having a home cooked meal with his family, it has very much become my second home.

Q: Secret talent?

A: I'm really awesome at wrapping gifts. I owe that one to my Mom!

Since it's Cat's last day, the Anthem Branding team wanted to say a few words about our Cat before she goes.

Justine Talling, or "Teeny" as we call her around the office, reflects on her first day at the office when she met Cat Wenger.

"On my very first day in the office, I was tasked with cleaning out the (super gross) office fridge. Without being asked, Cat was immediately by my side to help me. She is one of the most helpful, thoughtful and reliable people I have ever met. Cat is always eager to lend a helping hand, and I am forever grateful for that."

Teeny has quite a few favorite memories with our friend, Cat. Backpacking the Lost Creek Wilderness together, many, many, MANY miles of running to train for Ragnar Trail Relay, manning the Complimentary Bar during the Makers' Market, hiking during lunch hour from our office, practicing yoga together, weekend trips to the mountains, and Electric Forest to name just a few.

When I asked Justine her favorite thing about Cat, she just replied, "I love everything about Cat, if that wasn't already obvious. Cat is always up for an adventure and for trying new things. She is the most thoughtful person I know - she gives cute cards and sweet gifts for no reason at all, and even gives cards to my doggo from her doggo. Cat is always taking note of incredible little details that most people would gloss over. She brings so much joy and love to my life!"

Lisa Tupy, one of our other Art Directors at Anthem Branding, added a few more thoughts about our beloved co-worker. "Cat is one the most talented, approachable and kind-hearted creatives I have ever had the opportunity to work with. She truly cares about and invests herself in every client and peer she works with. Her mentorship and friendship has helped me grow immensely as a designer and professional. I will forever be grateful for her patience, willingness to help and witty personality that she brought to work everyday!"

Before Cat goes, we want to give her this last piece of advice on her next journey:

Allow yourself to transform

As many times as you need

To be fully happy and free

-Yung Pueblo

We love you Cat Wenger, and wish you all the best of luck.
