Employee Spotlight: Kat Ringenberg

Meet Kat Ringenberg. Our spunky, adventure seeking account manager who operates under the barriers of style and ease.

I had the pleasure to speak with Kat in the office, laughing over her experiences hiking 14ers and bonding over the love we have for Colorado.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: Lots of things! I'm a creative person, and this job allows me to work directly with our design team and suggest creative solutions to our clients. The day to day is never the same, we have a wide range of clients that can reach out at any point in time - so it's always something new. We also have certain clients we end up talking to almost everyday, and you become so close to these people that there's no deadline or obstacle you aren't excited to work through together. I'm also a people-person, so it's rewarding to find a role that aligns with my attributes.

Q: Who has the most influence over you?

A: I started at Anthem as an account coordinator about 3 years ago with Anne Robertson as my account manager, and she has definitely shaped me into who I am now. She is very solution-oriented; when I first started and would make those inevitable newbie mistakes, she taught me to never dwell on yourself or point fingers or cry in the bathroom, just take a breath and immediately work on finding the solution that will fix it.

Q: What color best represents your personality and how does that color make you feel?

A: If we're talking Crayola Crayon colors, I'd be Wild Blue Wonder. Probably Outrageous Orange at times.

Q: How would your best friends or family describe you in three words?

A: Fun loving, thoughtful, and adventurous!

This picture of our lovely Kat describes her perfectly. She went to hike up Mount Bierstadt, one of Colorado's many 14ers, alone. At the summit, she decided to have a beer and look over the landscape; a pretty serene moment for her. However, as she was walking down the mountain, she slipped and smashed her face onto a pile of rocks. Don't worry, her face healed in about a week, but I think she is still working on her pride.

Q: What is your favorite activity to do locally and why?

A: Doing a strenuous hike or camping for a weekend and then coming back into Boulder for happy hours and all of the food.

Q: What is your favorite local restaurant?

A: Dish Gourmet is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot, and Efrain's for my favorite local dinner stop.

Q: Best concert you have ever attended?

A: Recently, the Shins and Spoon at Red Rocks was amazing. But all-time favorite? Weezer in 2009.

Q: Where's your favorite place in the world?

A: In the U.S., I'm honestly so in love with Colorado. Montana gets a close second. As far as the world goes, I plan on doing some more traveling in the years to come, but I did love Hong Kong.

Q: Secret talent?

A: Super Smash Bros. Seriously, I am unstoppable.
