Meet Riley Robinson-Higgins, one of our Content Marketing Interns here at Anthem Branding, featured in our National Intern Day Spotlight.
Q: Where are you from originally? What is special about the place you grew up?
A: I grew up in Boulder, Colorado! There are so many special things about Boulder — the people are friendly, the mountains are majestic, tons of activities to do, my parents’ cooking — the works. But I think the best part about growing up in Boulder was the small town vibe with the ability to either go to a big city or head off to the mountains for a peaceful getaway.
Where do you go to school and what is your major?
I recently graduated from CU Boulder with a degree in marketing from the Leeds School of Business.
What does your internship at Anthem entail?
I am a content marketing intern, mostly focusing on blog writing.
Most valuable thing you have learned in your internship so far? Favorite thing you’ve done?
The most valuable thing that I’ve learned so far at Anthem is how to use other people’s wisdom and experience as a resource. Trying to do everything alone is a lose-lose, you never know what someone has to contribute until you get off your high horse and ask for some help.
My favorite thing at Anthem so far is participating in content planning meetings. It’s so exciting to see ideas flow between my co-workers and to see what gets them really excited. Then after those meetings, seeing the ideas come to life with everyone contributing in different ways.
What did you want to be when you were young? What do you want to be now?
When I was young, I wanted to save bugs' lives and put a stop to taxidermy. I was a pretty weird kid.
I also made a plan for when I am president.
Regrettably, two weeks after creating my genius plan, I decided against running after watching the Princess Diaries.
What song have you completely memorized?
“Bust a Move” by Young MC.
"From frustration first inclination is to become a monk and leave the situation, but every dark tunnel has a light of hope... Now you know what to do G bust a move."
Oh so inspiring, plus I made up a dance for it in high school so I can bust out my own moves.
What movie title best describes your life?
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989). Life is a most excellent adventure.
What fad or trend do you hope comes back?
Fanny packs! So much more convenient and comfortable than purses or handbags, with the style to boot.
What’s your favorite piece of clothing you own/owned?
Hands down, my tiger shirt. It makes me feel like a strong, sly cat who can take on anything.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love traveling in general, and love to travel with my mom! We’ve been to a lot of places and always find ourselves in the best, unexpected situations.
On top of that, I love to ski and participate in the hobby I seem to be best at — eating.
Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
My hidden talent would probably be making up words to songs as I sing them. Although my friends may not agree, I think I can guess the words almost better than someone who has listened to a song ten times, making car rides all the more fun for everyone!
